$1 Dominion of Canada 1923 Banknote Campbell/Sellar Issue (Black Seal) PMG Certified Choice Uncirculated 64
This is a superb and rare uncirculated example of Canada's last large-format one-dollar banknote issued in 1923. It has been independently third-party certified and graded by the Paper Money Guarantee Corporation (PMG) as "Uncirculated 64." PMG is the largest and most widely recognized company providing independent third-party grading of banknotes.
The note features a central vignette portrait of King George V under the scrolled text "Dominion of Canada." At the bottom left and right, signatures appear for the "Comptroller of Currency" and "For Minister of Finance." While most surviving uncirculated 1923 one-dollar notes are from the last issue which have Campbell/Clark signatures, this note features the earlier and much scarcer Campbell/Sellar signatures with a black seal (Charlton catalogue reference DC-25n). The back of the note shows an image of the library of Parliament, the only surviving building from the Centre Block fire of 1916.
