14KT Yellow and White Gold 1.00 Carat Tsavorite Garnet and Diamond Ring
A vibrant tsavorite garnet centers this piece, residing in a semi-bezel setting that is slightly raised above a high polished band of gold. Eleven fancy yellow gypsy-set diamonds are scattered, six on one side and five on the other side of the tsavorite. The band curves upward at the top and bottom attracting the light and bouncing it back to reflect through the diamonds. This low profile ring will quickly become an everyday favorite.
Natural yellow colour diamonds are extremely rare, with only one out of approximately 10,000 carats mined being a natural fancy colour diamond. Yellows are the most common, making up around 60% of the coloured diamonds. Tsavorite is among the most expensive of all garnets. Tsavorite is 1,000 times more rare than emerald, and some say it surpasses emerald in transparency and brilliance, or how much light is reflected from its interior. Tsavorite is so rare, in fact, that gems over 5 carats are almost unheard of, and gemologists believe it may become near-extinct before long.
