This two-coin set was a Royal Canadian Mint venture in conjunction with the Royal Mint, issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first wireless transmission. It features a $5 coin and a two-pound coin.
On December 12, 1901, Guglielmo Marconi (1874–1937) successfully transmitted the first wireless message across the Atlantic from Poldhu in Cornwall, England, to Signal Hill in St. John's Newfoundland.
