Estate Originals 14K Yellow Gold Beetle Motif Pendant with Red and Green Enamel
This fine late 19th century pendant/brooch features a striking 14K yellow gold beetle motif with vibrant red and green enamel. The head is textured in a stippled finish and the pronotum, outlined in a fine rope finish, is enamelled in red. The wings are defined by a fine gold meshing that open, just slightly, to reveal the lime green enamel below. The underside of the beetle is realistically rendered with abdominal segments and the high polished legs are attached. An open dark green enamel circle is attached, at the bottom and a bale can be found at the top.
Beetle jewellery, with its powerful symbolism, is regarded as a talisman for personal growth, change, and transformation. They symbolize inner strength, with its shell serving as a protector and invoking courage. Many cultures throughout time have seen beetles as symbols of good luck and protection from evil. When a beetle lands on you, they offer protection from bad energy and invite fortune into your life. It could be a sign of inner peace and compassion.
