Estate Originals 14K Yellow Gold Fancy Design Brooch with Pearls and Old European Cut Diamonds
This 14K yellow gold antique brooch exudes contemporary elegance with its satin background, polished trim and oval design. A raised and uneven fold runs horizontally across the middle and a 0.06 carat baguette cut diamond is located on one side of the fold while the other is adorned with two 3.0mm to 3.5mm round shaped lustrous cultured pearls and a 0.09 carat old European cut diamond. This piece showcases a timeless and sophisticated aesthetic. The warm gold tone, the smooth satin texture, sparkling gemstones and high polish wavy trim creates a unique look that will remain stylish for generations.
Old European cut diamonds appeared in the 1800’s and was the preferred cut from the 1890's to 1930’s. They are the precursor to today’s modern round brilliant cut, but chunkier as they were cut by hand. They have an open culet, a high crown and a small table and are very sought after by collectors of vintage jewellery.
