Estate Originals 18K Yellow Gold Longines Swiss-Made Wristwatch
This 18K yellow gold ladies wristwatch, signed 'Longines', has a classic, easy-to-read, round-shaped case with stick bar markers indicating the hours, yellow minute and hour hands, and a very pale yellow tone dial. The watch contains a mechanical movement which requires winding. This striking watch is enhanced by a combination texture and high polished triple link bracelet with fold-over clasp and safety.
The Longines story began in 1832 in the Swiss village of Saint-Imier and the first factory was established in 1867, built on the field known locally as "Es Longines", which is where the name came from. All timepieces leaving the factory were engraved with a serial number, the trade name Longines and its winged hourglass symbol in an effort to protect the products against counterfeits. As soon as Swiss law protecting trademarks was introduced in 1880, the owner Ernest Francillion registered his. Today, Longines remains the oldest watch brand trademarked in the International Registry at WIPO.
