This is an extremely rare and beautiful pair of earrings designed in 1996 New York City by the iconic designer Angela Cummings. These exceptional earrings are inspired by nature and crafted in lovely yellow gold with a textured finish. Made in the shape of rose petals and embellished with applications of pink rose enamel over a guilloche textured pattern. Fitted with a pair of French omega backs with posts, for pierced ears and stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay of the gold and signed in full, "© 1996 CUMMINGS 18K".

Angela Cummings is one of the most renowned jewellery designers of the 20th and 21st centuries and, along with Paloma Picasso, Jean Schlumberger, and Elsa Peretti, one of the most innovative designers associated with Tiffany & Co. Cummings was born in Austria in 1944. At the age of three her family moved to America, where she was raised. In 1967 she joined the legendary luxury house of Tiffany & Co. In 1974 the Brand Angela Cummings Exclusively for Tiffany & Co. was created making her the first female designer to have her own self-named jewellery collection with the company. And in 1982, People magazine featured her jewellery launching her into the spotlight. Two years later, in 1984 she parted ways with Tiffany & Co. to start her own line of jewellery. Her graceful, sculptural designs were enormously successful; in 1982 alone they accounted for over 45,000 sales with a total revenue of about $10 million. Her collections were featured in fine jewellery and department stores worldwide including her eponymous store at Bergdorf Goodman. Cummings retired in 2003.
