Estate Originals Ladies' 18K Yellow Gold Rolex President Perpetual Datejust Swiss-Made Watch
This ladies' 18K yellow gold Rolex President Perpetual Datejust wristwatch is Swiss-made and features a 26-mm champagne-coloured dial with a matching gold-tone hands and 10 diamond markers (all but the three and 12 o'clock). There is a magnified date window at the three o'clock position, and 45 diamonds frame the perimeter of the dial. An 18K yellow gold fluted bezel also surrounds the dial, and an 18K yellow gold president bracelet with a deployment clasp is attached. The watch has hour, minute and second hands and runs on an automatic movement. It's also scratch-resistant, has a sapphire crystal and screw-down crown, and is water-resistant to 100 metres.
The Datejust synthesizes the essential qualities of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual, made famous throughout the world. The fine movement is an officially certified Swiss chronometer. The wrist-chronometer, the waterproof case, the rotor self-winding movement and the date window are all landmarks in the history of watchmaking pioneered by Rolex. The 18K gold president bracelet was designed for the Day/Date and Datejust chronometers, and is entirely hand-finished.
Founded in 1905 by Hans Wilsdorf, Rolex has grown to become the world’s leading luxury watch brand. The Rolex name and the famed crown logo are synonymous with prestige, quality and craftsmanship. Using a proprietary construction comprising of a screw-down caseback, screw-down winding crown, and sealed crystal clamped down by a bezel, the Oyster case remains as the foundation for almost all modern Rolex watches. Rolex watches with Oyster cases have a minimum water resistance rating of 100 metres and can reach up to 3,900 metres for specialized diving watch models. In 1945, Rolex was the first to introduce a chronometer wristwatch with a date window on the dial. The Datejust and the Day/Date continue to be Rolex’s flagship dress watch models. Today, Rolex manufactures all of its mechanical movements in-house, using both cutting-edge machinery and traditional handmade techniques. Rolex watches are designed to last for many decades and are worn as timepieces and jewellery while vintage models are also widely sought-after by collectors. The first Rolex waterproof watch was unveiled in 1926 and was called the Oyster because it was clamped shut like an oyster shell and could survive underwater.
