Product Overview

This designer watch is from the Atlas collection, presented by Tiffany and Co. The elegant piece boasts a sleek and modern design inspired by the iconic Atlas motif, representing strength and sophistication. This Atlas watch is crafted from stainless steel and features a 36-mm round silver-tone dial with graphic Roman numerals indicating the hours. It runs on a Swiss-made automatic movement, has hour, minute and second hands, and a date window at the three o'clock position. In the style of a new classic, it features a substantial, yet comfortable, stainless-steel bracelet and handsome silver dial with guilloche style centre. The case has a screwed-down back for water resistance and a sapphire exhibition centre for viewing the finely decorated movement. Accompanying it is an instruction manual, Tiffany pouch, three extra links and a pin.

Founded in 1837 in New York City, Tiffany and Co. is one of the world's most storied luxury design houses recognized globally for its innovative jewellery design, extraordinary craftsmanship and unparalleled creativity. The Atlas has become an iconic Tiffany and Co. collection. The graphic motif of Roman numerals in jewellery was inspired by the Atlas clock, first mounted by Tiffany in 1853. Featuring strong silhouettes, the Atlas designs are a powerful reminder to take time into your own hands. In 1983, prior to the launch of the jewellery collection, Tiffany introduced the Atlas watch, designed by John Loring, Tiffany design director emeritus. The timepiece remains an icon of style and sophistication, featuring an hour track of brightly polished Roman-numeral markers in high relief. For its originality, the Atlas watch was granted a U.S. patent. Of his many Tiffany designs, Loring said this is his favourite because "it's had such staying power and translated so brilliantly into jewellery that is a true statement of fashion."

With an aesthetic that has gained an unmistakably Tiffany appeal over the years, the Atlas collection is named after the mythological Greek titan who is depicted in a wooden statue holding a clock above the main doors of the Tiffany and Co. Fifth Avenue flagship store. The statue has appeared over the main doors of three historic Tiffany and Co. flagships—at 550 Broadway, Union Square and 37th Street—in addition to its current home on Fifth Avenue. This clever reference to Greek mythology represents the timeless nature of the collection as well as its impact around the world over the past quarter-century.
