For two decades, Huras Family artists have bought smiles to peoples’ faces by producing the highest quality, beautiful glass Christmas ornaments utilizing traditional glass-blowing techniques in our family-owned factory in Poland.
The beauty of our glass ornaments lies not only in their whimsical designs and colorful details but also in the meticulous process behind their creation. In a world driven by automation and mass production, the enduring tradition of blowing and hand-painting glass ornaments stands as a testament to the time-honored value of artisanal skill and craftsmanship.
The seed that grew into a successful family business was first planted in a small city in Poland where John Huras, the company’s creative director and manager, was studying music. One Christmas holiday, John and his friends from the music conservatory were performing at a nearby children’s orphanage. They were sad to see the disappointing lack of decorations on the Christmas tree in the orphanage. Knowing his hometown was full of glass blowers, John embarked on an impulsive plan to create something to give to the children.
After months of work, he was consumed by a new-found love for designing and making ornaments! John’s parents decided to help him turn his new passion into a business. He became the creative director and together they all worked to learn the skills needed to design and produce the highest-quality, beautiful ornaments using tradition methods of glass-blowing instead of machines.
The family still produces each ornament with the same desire John had so many years ago: to add a touch of holiday magic that will inspire wonderful memories!
