Award winning host Carrie Olver started her television career in the early '90s as a TSC host. Born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Olver is a true Canadian girl whose roots also extend south of the border with family across many different states. As a dual-citizen, early in her career she found herself living in Tampa, Florida where she joined the hosting team at the Home Shopping Network. Missing home, she later returned to Canada and started a new chapter in her broadcasting career, as a national weather and news anchor at The Weather Network.
Olver never lost touch with her TSC family and her love of discovering new products. During her time at The Weather Network, she also appeared as a global product expert/ambassador on QVC, HSN, HSE, Shop Channel and Ideal Shopping—around the world, including London, Milan, Germany, Paris and Tokyo and the U.S. for beauty and jewellery lines. In 2013, when she was asked to return to TSC and pick up where she left off, Olver was excited to come home.
Olver was also nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for “Best Host in a Lifestyle Series” for the internationally syndicated show Spectacular Spas, where she travelled to 75 of the world's best spas and highlighted hundreds of beauty treatments, five-star cuisine and exotic locales. The experience was nothing short of an Ivy League education in health and beauty, travel, culture, and cuisine.
This made Olver the ideal host for TSC's beauty destination show The Beauty Bar, where she explores the hottest beauty tips, tricks and trends!
When she's not discovering and sharing exciting new products, Olver is at home on the farm with her chickens, Chihuahuas and her 20-year-old kitty. Olver and her husband Tim usually spend their weekends looking for vintage buys in antique markets, and enjoying the company of their blended family.
