Product Overview

Very few coins from around 1967 have survived still in original brilliant uncirculated rolls as they were issued through Canada's chartered banks, and these scarce rolls often include some of the best premium-quality examples of uncirculated coins from this era. This is an original roll of 40 silver quarters issued in 1967, just as the coins were issued newly shipped from the Royal Canadian Mint. The coins are even more interesting as they are all special-issue commemoratives marking the 100th anniversary of Canadian Confederation.  Each coin features a bobcat image designed by renowned Canadian artist and sculptor Alex Colville. The theme is intended to represent the vastness of Canada.

While 1967 quarters were issued both in .800 fine silver in the first half of the year and .500 silver in the second half of the year, most of the mint rolls saved by collectors are some of the first coins released, and they are usually .800 silver. An .800 fine roll of quarters from this time contains six ounces of pure silver. Though silver quarters from this era are not especially rare, original rolls are seldom encountered and exceptional quality uncirculated coins are scarce and highly sought-after.

This coin roll is original from 1967 and has not been searched for exceptional quality examples. The coins have been transferred into a clear acrylic tube for the best possible long-term storage and preservation.
