At the heart of the Supersonic is Dyson's digital motor V9, which produces a jet of focused air, designed for fast drying and controlled styling. While other hair dryers can get too hot, the Supersonic works differently. It measures air temperature 20 times a second, which helps keep temperature under control and helps prevent extreme heat damage; a microprocessor in the head intelligently controls the heating elements using data from the glass bead thermistor. It's also physically easier to use than other dryers. The motor is in the handle, which shifts the centre of gravity and makes it feel a lot more balanced in your hand.
