Winnipeg Jets 50-Cent Collector Coins

This set of 10 Winnipeg Jets special-edition 50-cent coins provides both an opportunity to mark the 2011 return of the NHL team to Winnipeg and a chance to own 10 examples of one of the lowest-mintage regular-size and metal half-dollars ever issued in Canada. Although these coins were issued for collectors, its mintage of 23,712 coins is similar to the mintage of Canada's ultra-rare 1894 business-strike half-dollar, which had a mintage of 20,000.  This set includes 10 special-issue Winnipeg 50-cent coins with each presented separately in a souvenir presentation.

The coin is double dated 2011/2012 and features the team logo, with a powerful image of a military jet in the centre. Since the Jets returned to Winnipeg in 2011, the triumphs of the team and its fans have continued to grow, including representing Canada in exciting Stanley Cup playoff games.
