Product Overview
Maple Leaves in Motion is an annual favourite from the Royal Canadian Mint; it features beautiful art and innovation and has a history of selling out on launch day. New for 2021, this $50 five-ounce fine-silver coin uses a multi-faceted maple-leaf design with both yellow and rose gold layering to brilliantly refract light and highlight Canada's national symbol.

On April 25, 1996, the maple tree was officially recognized as Canada's national arboreal emblem. The anniversary of this famously Canadian symbol is represented by a special "25" maple leaf privy mark included just below the large maple leaf design. Viewed from every angle, the engraved facets gently rise and fall to give the maple leaf a dimensional shape that plays with light. These engraved shapes are also plated with either yellow or rose gold to create a luminous colour contrast that truly stands out—just like Canada's maple trees in the fall.

A single sugar maple leaf is the focal point of this design by Canadian artist Matt Eggink. Against a laser-engraved relief pattern, the maple leaf's multiple engraved facets are individually plated with either yellow or rose gold for high contrast and visual appeal. Ten more geometric shapes—one for each Canadian maple species—form a partial frame, while a special privy mark denotes the 25th anniversary (1996–2021) of the maple's designation as the official national arboreal emblem of Canada. The selectively plated obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
