Product Overview
This vintage sapphire and diamond ring was crafted during the Art Deco period (1920's & 1930's) when jewellery tended to be more streamlined and geometric in design. An elaborate platinum border of diamonds frames the 4.50 carat diamond shaped sapphire in the center. Each side, top and bottom, have three graduated diamonds that increase in size as they run lengthwise up and down the finger. Because of the triangular shape, the diamonds taper inwards and as they converge and are capped by a pierced triangular opening and a diamond set triangle at the top. The shoulders are pierced in a fleur de lis design and each set with a diamond. The back of the band and pierced scrolled undergallery are crafted in 18kt yellow gold. Art Deco jewels remain one of the strongest and most collectible sectors of the jewelry market.
