Product Overview
The Royal Canadian Mint is internationally renowned for the quality, artistic design work, and technical innovation of their fine silver collector coins. This collection includes seven different fine silver limited edition collector coins issued by the RCM from 2014 to 2020, and each representing one iconic symbol of Canada. The collection includes specially shaped coins, coloured coins, a glow in the dark coin, a coin with refractive polygons, an oxidized niobium element, and even genuine glittering diamond dust. Together, they form an ideal way to discover the coins of the Royal Canadian Mint, and celebrate who we are as a proud and patriotic country.
Coins included:
$20 Maple Leaf in Colour, 2016:
Canada’s Maple Leaf is brought to life through this fully shaped and coloured one-ounce $20 fine silver coin. Vibrant gold and orange colours accentuate the deeply struck veins of Canada’s iconic leaf. (Mintage 15,000; issue price: $154.95; weight: 1 ounce).
$5 This is Canada, 2019:
The reverse image features the flag of Canada rising up behind an engraved map of the 13 Canadian provinces and territories. When the design is viewed in the dark, the activated photo-luminescent (glow-in-the-dark) technology transforms the flag into a glowing symbol of national pride. The coin weighs a quarter ounce (7.96 grams) of fine silver, and has a diameter of 27 mm. (Issue price: $29.95; weight: .25 ounce).
$20 Beaver– Geometry in Art, 2016:
Geometry, technology, and art intersect in this depiction of two beavers. Each polygon is made distinct from the other through extraordinary sculpting, cutting-edge technology, and advanced finishing techniques. Geometric lines form the branches used by the beaver as building materials for their dam. A glimpse of the dam rising up from the mud at the bottom of the pond is made possible from a half-submerged perspective. (Mintage: 7,500; issue price: $99.95; weight: 1 ounce).
$20 Wolf Fine Silver Coin, 2017:
Selective colour and genuine diamond glitter elements capture a serene moment in Northern Canada. A wolf takes a moment to rest its weary head next to its forepaws. Behind the wolf, engraving adds texture to the trees that surround it, while the application of soft colours re-creates the hues and shadows of fading daylight. While the landscape slumbers beneath a thick blanket of snow, a sealed layer of fine diamond particles re-creates the effect of snow sparkle on this enchanting winter day in the North. (Mintage: 5,000; issue price: $119.95; weight: 1 ounce).
$10 Maple Leaf Silhouette- Canada Geese, 2016:
This beautiful and innovative coin combines two of our most iconic national symbols in one pure silver $10 coin. The coin itself features the shape of a maple leaf, which forms a silhouette to frame artist Trevor Tennant’s image of two Canada Geese. (Mintage 22,000; issue price: $84.95; weight: .5 Ounce).
$5 Tulip With Red Oxidized Niobium, 2014:
Since Canada sheltered Netherlands Princess Juliana and her daughters during WWII, Canada has received an annual gift of thousands of tulip bulbs from the Netherlands, making the tulip an iconic symbol of both spring in Canada and of Canada’s willingness to assist its friends and allies. The coin is primarily struck in fine silver, but the tulip is composed of the element Niobium with a brilliant oxidized rose coloured hue. (Mintage 6,000; issue price: $139.95; weight: .3 ounce).
$5 Royal Canadian Mounted Police, 2020:
Canada’s national police force is a highly respected symbol of our country. The engraved image features a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police on horseback, and comes in an attractive display presentation. The reverse also includes the word "Canada" near the curved rim, and flanked by maple leaves, while the face value "5 dollars" and the year "2020" are inscribed below. (Issue price $24.95; weight: .25 ounce).
