Travel back to the 1800s with this three-piece United States dollar collection including two different dollar coins, one struck in gold and the other in silver. The collection includes a Liberty Head gold dollar dated from 1849 to 1854, and Indian Princess gold dollar issued from 1854 to 1889, and a Silver Morgan dollar dated from 1878 to 1899, all presented together in a mahogany finish display case. All three coins are original issues from the 1800s in high-grade collectible condition.
While Alexander Hamilton first proposed both silver and gold dollar coins for circulation, the gold dollars were not issued until the beginning of the California Gold Rush in 1849. Both major types of gold dollars are included in this collection together with a Morgan silver dollar.

From 1878 to 1904, and then again in 1921, silver dollars designed by George Morgan were produced in several different mints across the United States. The coin features a profile portrait of Liberty on one side and an eagle with outstretched wings on the other.
