Royal Canadian Mint/Canada Post Year-2000 Millennium Medallions (Tube of 40, Choice to Gem Uncirculated)

As the world prepared to enter a new millennium, the Royal Canadian Mint and Canada Post decided to celebrate the event with a new medallion expressing the hope that the year 2000 would usher in a new era of peace. Medallions were struck by the Royal Canadian Mint on 25-cent coin blanks, but with a higher-quality finish and with no denomination. The obverse design features a flying dove together with the inscription "Canada 2000," while the reverse features a large futuristic stylized maple leaf beneath 13 smaller leaves representing the 13 provinces and territories. At the bottom of medallion, a bilingual "millennium" inscription completes the design. This value collection includes 40 millennium medallions in a protective acrylic tube, resembling an ultra-low-mintage roll of quarters.
