This large-format five-ounce fine silver coin re-imagines Canada's half-dollar coin, adding a new perspective and context to the design. Enlarged to a diameter of 65.25 mm and a weight of five ounces of .9999 fine silver, the design showcases multiple elements of Canada's heraldry. Since 1937, Canada's regular half-dollar coin has featured our national coat of arms. This Bigger Picture design starts with a large silver classic coat-of-arms half-dollar design in the centre. Around Canada's coat-of-arms design, this coin now adds all 13 coat-of-arms designs for the provinces and territories which combine to form our country. The obverse features a maple-leaf pattern and the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
