Product Overview

This outstanding bracelet features seven gold coins, one fronting the hidden clasp. Each of the coins read "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA 2 1/2D" with an eagle, wings spread, a coat-of-arms on the chest and talons gripping arrows and olive branches on one side and the profile of Lady Liberty on the other. Five of the coins are dated 1905, one is dated 1861 and the one on the clasp hides the date. The links that join the coins, the clasp, and the safety chain are fashioned in yellow gold.

The Classic Liberty $2.5 Gold Coin, otherwise referred to as the Classic Head Quarter Eagle, is a gold coin that was produced by the U.S. Mint from 1840 to 1907. The $2.50 Liberty Gold Quarter Eagle was the smallest gold coin the United States issued for many years. (Only the Gold Dollar issued from 1849-1889 was smaller.)

While a Quarter Eagle was still a significant sum of money, it was a small enough denomination for most Americans to encounter or save at one time or another. In fact, many were given as gifts on occasions of births, graduations, weddings, and other important lifetime events. Many Liberty Quarter Eagles have low mintages, yet they trade at nearly the same price as common coins. All Quarter Eagles trade at significant premiums over their intrinsic value; so they cannot truly be considered a bullion investment. However, these coins are interesting and historic; an ideal combination for the casual collector.
