This scarce-date low-mintage 1947 Pointed 7 variety Canadian silver dollar is a rare coin that has survived in Choice Uncirculated condition. It has been authenticated and graded as MS-63 by the Canadian Coin Certification Service (CCCS), and comes protected in a tamper-proof holder. The coin is primarily brilliant and lustrous, and is also designated as the Pointed 7 variety, where the "7" in the date is pointed at the bottom, instead of blunt. This variety is significantly scarcer than the usual Blunt 7 variety. The coin is also designated as having a "doubled HP," which is a variety in which the initials of the engraver appear doubled.
As a Choice Uncirculated coin designated at MS-63, this coin in new condition as struck, with fewer than average "bag marks," which typically arise from coins coming in contact with each other both in the production process and when being shipped to banks in bulk canvas bags.
