Custom Made 14K Yellow Gold Fancy Design Pendant with a 22K British Sovereign Coin

This unique and unusual pendant is custom crafted in beautiful yellow gold. It features a 22K gold British Sovereign coin, dated 1905. The reverse (which faces up) features the famous St. George on a horse slaying a dragon design engraved by Benedetto Pistrucci and the obverse (facing down) illustrates the bare head of King Edward VII as designed by George William De Saulles and reads: EDWARDVS V11 D:G:BRITT: OMN: REX F:D: IND: IMP. The coin is centered and prong-set with a tapered column that extends from the top of the bezel, one and one quarter inches in height, becoming the bale towards the top. Embracing, on both sides, is a textured swirl of yellow gold that extends, with negative space, from part way down the column, around the coin and into a soft 'V', at the bottom. A yellow gold box link chain is included.

He presided over a golden age of peace for the British Empire and was instrumental in the Anglo-French, ‘Entente Cordiale’ peace agreement that was signed in 1904. The gold Sovereigns of the king’s reign were regarded as the American Express of the era, as well as being accepted as legal tender all over the world, including in countries such as Brazil that weren’t part of the British Empire.
