Estate Originals 14K Yellow Gold Three Circle Spinning Diamond Ring
This intriguing and rhythmic 1970s 14K yellow gold ring features a whimsical yet elegant design with three tiered concentric rotating circles that spin freely and independently from one another. Each circle is adorned with a bezel set 0.15 carat diamond, set in white gold, and affixed to the outer rim. Seven additional diamonds are meticulously set in a cluster formation around a central pin within the top circle. The diamonds catch the light beautifully as they dance with the movement that naturally occurs when the ring is on the finger. The concave band is stippled with a bark finish.
The concept of spinner rings can be traced back to Tibetan Buddhism and meditation traditions. Ancient practitioners used metal spinning cylinders engraved with sacred texts to recite and perform religious rituals. This spinning motion was believed to naturally calm the mind. Spinner rings are believed to have a calming effect on the mind and body, and were often called worry rings. The repetitive motion of spinning the bands can help to relieve anxiety and stress, making them a popular choice for those who struggle with these issues.
