Samuel Thrall Cooper began his business as a source for quality long-lasting socks, a complaint he heard often from local hard-working lumberjacks. They would pioneer the advent of many new styles in underwear, and their first celebrity endorsement in 1947 was from none other than mythic baseball legend, Babe Ruth.
