Hot Wheels

They're not called Hot Wheels for nothing, and they're available to you here at TSC! Created by Mattel co-founder Elliot Handler in 1968, Hot Wheels have become the standard in die cast toy cars and racing playsets, for the child and hardcore collector alike. Wildly popular from their premiere, Hot Wheels took the approach of designing exaggerated versions of existing cars, giving them a customized 'hot rod' type of look, which was very different from other comparable toys at the time. They quickly surpassed all competition, and supplemented their toy car line quickly over the coming years. As the decades passed, the lines of Hot Wheels cars available became numerous and remain just as popular today. In addition to their limitless toy cars, Hot Wheels also developed several racetrack playsets that only increased the toy's popularity further. Often interchangeable, easy to assemble, and only limited in design by imagination, Hot Wheels racetracks have become as much a part of the brand as the cars themselves. Over the years, Hot Wheels have also been attached to several licensed properties, too. While they maintain agreements with multiple car manufacturers to keep all the latest automotive designs included, they also create editions for several movie industry and pop culture brands as well. Two of the most popular have been their vehicles from The Fast And The Furious movie franchise, and more recently, playsets that feature characters from Nintendo's beloved Mario Kart world.
