Based out of the Leopold & Leopold Millinery, they branded themselves first as Canadian Hat in 1948, and became famous for their authenticity and quality in fashion capitals as far reaching as Paris and London. Buoyed by that success over the decades, they created a companion brand in 1993 called Harricana, which promised to continue with the same level of quality and commitment as its successful predecessor. The two co-brands understand what the average Canadian needs to fight our challenging winters, and do it with a unique and distinct sense of style. One of the things that makes Harricana so different is their usage of exclusively recycled furs in their creations. By heading this innovative initiative, they have proudly reduced the amount of animal kills, which is now over one million since their inception. They have since created over one hundred thousand garments using these recycled furs, breathing a new standard of sustainability into the clothing industry.
